Simon

In many ways Simon is like Negan. He’s clearly adopted his boss’s mannerisms and enjoys being second in command. He and Gregory seem to have a good understanding too. But even though Simon has been around for a couple of seasons now The Walking Dead fans don’t really know that much about him. It remains to be seem if Simon or really any of The Saviors will survive the war.

But assuming that that Simon will survive, what does Steven Ogg want to see for Simon in the future? He told EW:

"“Definitely his backstory. I always reference John Caroll Lynch and Lennie James, that episode where they were in the house and it was the whole development of the martial arts. It was almost like a staged production, like theatre. I’d love that. I’d also love to see Simon having a good old cry, you know? The more you can reveal these different flavors, the more of humanity we see, that’s always interesting. So it would just be, you know, Simon in the bathtub listening to Spandau Ballet having a good cry. Him in onesies with Negan in bunk beds.”"

The episode he’s referencing is “Here’s Not Here”, which was the episode in season 6 that showed Morgan’s time with Eastman. A Simon bottle episode would definitely be interesting to see. Simon sometimes like a caricature of a character so it would bring a lot more depth to the character to see his backstory and see how he ended up being Negan’s second in command.
