First of all, if you haven’t picked up Paul Vigna’s new book Guts: The Anatomy of The Walking Dead, you should do that immediately. It’s a fantastic read and it’s great to see him getting in our mailbag!
Secondly, this is a pretty loaded question. By saying ‘series regular’, minor characters are eliminated and the focus goes on the individuals that fans have gotten to know over the course of 7 seasons.
However, I do believe there will be some major deaths in season 8, and the first character who will meet their doom will be an original. That’s right, a character from season 1 who fans have seen transform several times: Morgan Jones.
I’m a huge fan of Morgan, but his character has run its course. Lennie James is a fantastic actor who brought this character to life, but it’s hard to see something else for him now that he’s gone back and forth with his sanity and I believe he will end up sacrificing himself for the lives of others.
