#3. We just don’t care enough…

Gareth Eardley on Facebook asks: “Which characters in the TV version you didn’t care about when they died?”

Oh, boy. Nothing like a question like this to put me on the hot seat again. Not only did I just talk about a season 1 character dying in the last question, but now I have to talk about deaths I just didn’t care about on the AMC show!

But sadly, there were some characters that I either just didn’t relate to or didn’t feel a strong connection with, and when they died, it lacked the emotional punch that losing them should have had on me.

The biggest one that comes to mind is Beth. For many fans, her death was a tragic moment and others weren’t a big fan of the character. I fell into the group that found it hard to relate to her and didn’t really understand her character’s motivations and desires.

Others that I had an underwhelming reaction to include Lori and Andrea, but there were others that just didn’t have the punch they should have. Dale and T-Dog both deserved bigger deaths, but it was fitting the way it happened and understandable, but still was somewhat of a letdown for characters I was really invested in.
