The Walking Dead season 8 premiere is just days away. AMC released a new clip from the season premiere to get fans even more excited for All Out War.

Fans of The Walking Dead have been waiting months for All Out War to begin. It’s just days away now and AMC released a new sneak peek of the season 8 premiere to give fans a taste of what’s coming.

The short clip shows a herd approaching. But it looks like the walkers are deliberately being herded using fire and other stimuli to get them to move in one direction. Tara and Morgan appear to have been working together to bring the herd to Daryl and Carol.

Carol is sporting an orange Kingdom armband, so it doesn’t look she has returned to Alexandria permanently. But as she leaves Daryl with the herd she gives him a fierce hug and tells him to be careful.

She appears apprehensive as she says, “It’s starting”, presumably talking about the war. But later in the clip, Daryl tells her, “It’s better than letting things be though, right?” and she agrees. They’re taking this war seriously and they know what’s at stake. And that makes it even more thrilling.

All Out War

The Walking Dead season premiere clip is exciting because it shows the gravity of the situation. It’s clear that the survivors understand exactly what kind of threat Negan and The Saviors are. They aren’t counting on an easy victory. They know that people are going to die and that things could get very bad.

But they’re also clearly committed to winning, no matter what the cost. And that means that this season is probably going to be the best season of the show yet. Fans have never seen their beloved survivors in this position.

In season 7 they were beaten down, devastated, separated, and were at the lowest point they’ve ever been at. Always before they managed to rally and beat whatever threat they were facing whether it was from people or walkers. Last season for the first time it looked like they might not be able to come back from the devastating events of the season premiere.

But then they did manage to rally again. By once again relying on their connection to each other and the redemptive healing power of that shared love they came together, with the other communities in tow, to bring the fight to The Saviors.
