The Walking Dead, The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
18) Jadis shooting Rick is the third time he’s been shot: The first being before the outbreak began in “Days Gone Bye” and the second being during the fight with The Governor’s army in “Too Far Gone”.
19) The scenario of Rick and Carl hearing a woman scream (And believing it to be Michonne) is a reference to a similar scene involving Andrea instead during the battle with a different(?) group of Scavengers.
20) That said, we may have had a subtle hint about The Scavengers betrayal of The Group way back in the fourth episode of the season, “Service”. When Negan arrives at the gates of Alexandria, he says, “Little pig, little pig, let me in”. This is exactly the same line used by Derek in the comics; Derek, by the way, was the leader of The Scavengers. Hmm…
21) Negan threatening to smash Rick’s hands with Lucille may be referencing The Governor’s severing of Rick’s hand in the comics.
22) The figurine Daryl finds is one of Dwight’s. We saw him carving them during Dwight’s “Day-in-the-life” montage in “The Cell”. I still want one of those egg sandwiches…
