The Walking Dead is back and the opening shots of All Out War have been delivered. Who died in the start of the war between Rick and Negan?

All Out War has begun on The Walking Dead. Season 8 started out with Rick, King Ezekiel, and Maggie leading the communities into a concentrated attack on The Sanctuary and several of the Saviors’ outposts.

Unlike The Walking Dead’s season 7 premiere in the season 8 premiere, all the fatalities were Saviors. Thanks to information from Dwight Rick’s “A” team of Carol, Daryl, Morgan, and Carl were all on separate missions to take out The Saviors’ guards and watchers all around the area. They had a list of all the watch positions and methodically executed all The Saviors that were on watch.

Their execution included taking out the sentry at the lookout post of the outpost where it all started – the outlying station where Rick and the others murdered The Saviors in cold blood.

Some of the other Saviors died in the communities’ attack on The Sanctuary. The members of the various communities up-armored some vehicles and the RV and drove right into The Sanctuary. The RV was sacrificed as a huge bomb while the survivors opened up fire on The Sanctuary building and The Saviors.

Gregory

Gregory almost died but once again mentioned to weasel his way to safety. After declaring that The Hilltop stands with Negan and getting shown up by Jesus Gregory found himself alone in the barrage of gunfire from the communities.

It looked like he wouldn’t make it out because he was trying to dodge gunfire and dodge the massive herd of walkers that Rick and the others had herded into The Sanctuary. But Father Gabriel stopped his escape to help Gregory. And then Gregory, in true Gregory fashion, left Father Gabriel to die and took his car.

Enjoy your few minutes of reprieve Gregory. Your time is coming.

Father Gabriel

Father Gabriel ended up going from one impending disaster to another. After barely escaping the walkers in The Sanctuary courtyard he found that a shed in the yard had a door that wasn’t locked. So he found some shelter inside. But, he wasn’t the only one trying to escape the walkers in the shed.

Negan was pinned down by the gunfire and the walkers and was hiding in the shed. So now Father Gabriel is in serious trouble and trapped with Negan. It’s safe to assume that Negan isn’t going to just give Father Gabriel back to Rick.

Casualties of All Out War

Team Rick managed to avoid any casualties in the opening salvo of the war. But it’s a pretty safe bet that the communities will also face some losses in the battles to come. This is war on The Walking Dead so the only thing that is certain is that some of our favorites won’t survive the season.
