#2. How long until Rick’s group strikes?

Viewers didn’t even have to sit through one single episode of planning and preparation to see the first battle of All-Out War in season 8, jumping right into the execution of the first attack on The Sanctuary.

Before any the killing took place, Rick offered mercy to anyone whose name doesn’t rhyme with Schmegan. This was a great gesture since not everyone at The Sanctuary is a horrible person and it gives them a chance to choose an allegiance.

Sadly, it did feel like there were some missed opportunities to build characters or add some tension to the war, but keeping the season premiere moving fast and getting to some action may be best in the long run.

Season 8 looks to be turning up the dial on action and conflict, and that may help a lot of fans who didn’t like the pacing of the previous season. Hopefully that keeps the audience entertainined as the show goes on.
