When asked about giving Lucille to one of the 2017 World Series teams, Jeffrey Dean Morgan gave a very logical explanation of his choice.

We all know that The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a Seattle Man. Seahawks. Mariners. But given the option to give Negan’s prized barbed-wire bat to one of the teams in the 2017 World Series, who would he choose?

In a video from TMZ Sports, Morgan was unequivocal about giving the bat to the Los Angeles Dodgers. At first it’s an easy decision since he was at LAX at the time he was asked. But given that the Houston Astros knocked his other team, the New York Yankees, out of the National League Championship Series 4-3 to claim the World Series spot, Morgan eventually conceded that the Dodgers should definitely have the bat. Anything to help them against the Astros. (Though he admitted that he might have a different answer if he was asked in Houston…)

Here’s the full video:

And while they’re at it, why take the barbed wire off, he adds. Let them keep Lucille the way she is!

He would have happily given New York’s Aaron Judge Lucille had the Yankees made it to the World Series, so he wasn’t certain who he’d offer Lucille to on the Dodgers roster. He agrees to the suggestion of LA’s Kike Hernandez, whose three home run night (including a grand slam) in Game 5 helped seal the deal and send the Dodgers to their first World Series since 1988.
