Calling all members of the TWD Family: It’s time to assemble to help an adorable 9 year old cancer patient celebrating his last Christmas early.

The TWD Family is strong and it’s time to mobilize to help a young cancer patient celebrate Christmas early.

The Walking Dead Twitter account posted a message on Saturday calling out to all of The Walking Dead fans out there: “Using our powers for good – you know what to do #TWDFamily.”

Jacob Thompson, a 9 year old battling Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma, has less than a month to live and he has asked for Christmas to come a little early. Instead of gifts, the adorable youngster is asking for Christmas cards. Jacob is hoping that people will be “inspired to reach out” and help him celebrate.

His family and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital are organizing an early Christmas celebration complete with snow, a tree and a visit from Santa. All of the cards will be a part of the celebration.

Jacob loves penguins and lives by the motto to “live like a penguin” according to his mother, Michelle Thompson Simard. Living like a penguin includes “be friendly, stand by each other, go the extra mile, jump into life and be cool.” The young boy loves Christmas and since he won’t be around for the actual day, his family his hoping that people will go the extra mile to help bring him his biggest wish.

The TWD Family is a powerful force and with all of the crappy things happening in the world right now, this is the kind of thing that needs our attention.

If you’d like to send Jacob a card, please address it to Jacob Thompson, Care of Maine Medical Center, 22 Bramhall St, Portland, ME 04102.

Let’s do this thing, TWD Family!
