We’re returning to the Sanctuary in The Walking Dead 805 “The Big Scary U” and there are so many questions we have ahead of tonight’s episode.

It has been quite a while since we last saw what was going on at the Sanctuary. Rick and the gang gave the Saviors a run for their money, smashing windows, breaking fences and leading a herd of Walkers straight into the heart of the compound. While Negan’s men battled the Walkers, his lieutenants managed to escape while Negan himself was wounded and stuck in a storage unit with Father Gabriel.

With all of the previews and teasers we have seen so far, we have questions ahead of tonight’s episode.

Is Negan really the bad guy?

Let’s be clear, Negan has done some bad things. But as the leader of the Saviors, he has to impose some kind of order, doesn’t he? He alludes to his influence over his people to Father Gabriel when he says that a lot of people will die if he’s not there. It sounds like his lieutenants might be the ones to worry about more than worrying about him.

Will Eugene speak up?

We haven’t seen much from Eugene, but even in the season premiere he was open to listening to his former friends because he could see that the Saviors were outgunned in this fire fight. But when it comes to sitting down with Dwight, Gavin and Simon, will he find his voice? Can he bring the voice of reason to the table?

Gavin as the wild card?

Gavin was always the sensible one. In his dealings with the Kingdom, it was clear that Gavin wanted nothing to do with the Saviors on his team. He was appalled when Benjamin was killed and he only seems to be tolerating his involvement as a means of survival. He’s not Negan in the general sense. Will he be on board with Simon?

Has Simon been waiting for the right moment?

Simon is an opportunist and he might be Team Negan but with Negan out of the picture, he’s the one who will look to take over. Unlike Negan, Simon doesn’t seem to care about the rules and punishment. He’s got a mean streak and if his cat and mouse game with Gregory is any indication, he is very unpredictable. Unpredictable is dangerous in this environment.

How will Negan make it out?

Negan needs to get out of the storage unit and get back to running the show. With his men under the impression that he’s dead (or do they?) how will he make it out with no weapons and only Father Gabriel to help? Will they both make it out or will Negan sacrifice Gabriel to get out?
