After the loss of Shiva last week The Walking Dead gave fans a week to grieve with relatively light losses in episode 805.

The Walking Dead went back to The Sanctuary this week to reveal what happened to Negan and Father Gabriel. There were no major deaths this week, thankfully. Fans are still not over Shiva sacrificing herself for King Ezekiel last week so it’s nice that they got an episode to breathe before there are more losses.

But with The Walking Dead midseason finale coming up fast there are bound to be more deaths. And there will probably be some major losses coming. So far most of the losses have been from The Saviors. That will likely change as Negan and The Saviors prepare a response to Rick’s alliance attacks on the outposts and on The Sanctuary itself.

The only real loss in “Big Scary U” was Yago, the driver of the gun truck from the outpost where The Kingdom fighters were killed. Yago lingered for a bit after Rick attacked him and forced him to crash the gun truck last week.

More from Undead Walking

Things were tense in the trailer between Father Gabriel and Negan, but ultimately the two worked together and used the guts trick to get through the huge herd surrounding The Sanctuary and get safely inside. Father Gabriel looks to be very sick though, and he may have been bitten.

Could Father Gabriel have allowed himself to get bitten so that he would be sent to Dr. Carson? He wanted a death with a purpose. And getting bitten so that he could try to break Dr. Carson out of The Sanctuary and lead him back to The Hilltop to take care of Maggie and Baby Rhee would definitely be a death with a purpose.

The Battles Ahead

The only thing that is constant on The Walking Dead is that no one is safe. Other than the loss of The Kingdom fighters and Shiva in “Some Guy” Rick’s team really hasn’t had any major losses. But now that Negan is safely back inside The Sanctuary he’s going to start planning some kind of major show of force to try to put down Rick’s rebellion.

Next: The good and bad from TWD 805

With only three episodes left until the midseason break, it’s a pretty safe bet that the alliance squad is going to start taking some heavy hits over the course of those three episodes. So prepare yourself The Walking Dead family and hope that your favorites make it through the midseason finale unscathed. Chances are good that at least one major character isn’t going to make it out of the first half of season 8 alive.
