The Walking Dead episode 805 revealed some Negan backstory and what happened to Father Gabriel. Here are the best fan reactions to “Big Scary U”.

The Walking Dead fans finally got to see what happened to Father Gabriel who was trapped with Negan back in the season 8 premiere. There were some great scenes between the two characters when they were trapped in the trailer.

Father Gabriel was braver than he had ever been before and he even got Negan to open to him a little. Fans found out that Negan worked with kids in some capacity before the apocalypse. And that he had a wife and he wasn’t very good to her. But it was clear from the way he talked about her that he had loved her very much. It wasn’t revealed in the episode but it’s no secret that his wife’s name was Lucille.

Eventually Father Gabriel and Negan worked together to get out of the trailer by covering themselves in walker guts. It worked briefly, just long enough for them to get inside The Sanctuary. But it looks like Father Gabriel may have been bitten because he seems to have a fever and is sick.

Inside The Sanctuary Simon, Dwight, Regina and the other leaders of The Saviors have to deal with an insurrection among the workers and the rebellion is approaching a critical mass when Negan shows up and gets everyone back in line.
