Walker Stalker Con welcomed Fear The Walking Dead’s Kim Dickens to her very first fan convention. Fellow contributor Tameche Brown and I had the opportunity to interview Kim about her character Madison Clark and more.

Kim Dickens has a prolific resume full of interesting characters across a wide array of settings. In fact, several of her shows were represented at Walker Stalker Con Atlanta, including Lost and Sons of Anarchy in addition to Fear The Walking Dead.

On her first convention experience

Kim shared that she was enjoying her first convention experience and the opportunity to meet the fans. Kim is impressed with the Fear The Walking Dead fans whom she describes as a “strong mobilized passionate fanbase”.

We asked Kim how it felt to attend a convention where three of her shows were being represented.

"Kim Dickens: “I feel really proud. I like that I’m in the genre business. I love it, you know. I feel like we need to get some Deadwood people up in here, too.”"

That sounds like a great idea! Fans of both Fear The Walking Dead and Deadwood will recall that Ray McKinnon (Proctor John) and Dayton Callie (Jeremiah Otto) like Kim also appeared on Deadwood.

On Madison

We also asked Kim to reflect on what she believed to be Madison’s strongest quality. Kim shared that it would probably be “making the unimaginable decision and executing it”. We chuckled at her choice of words since one of the most shocking moments of the Fear The Walking Dead season 3 finale was her literally “executing” the very troubled and unpredictable character Troy Otto.

In regard to Madison discovering that Nick had fallen back into drug use, Kim said Madison realized it “in a split second”. Kim also explained that Madison’s reaction to this discovery was a mixture of both anger and disappointment. But ultimately Madison had to let Nick make his own choice.

Be sure to check out the full interview above to get even more details about Kim’s portrayal of Madison.

It was quite a treat to chat with Kim Dickens. She is gorgeous inside and out and generous with her fans. She is definitely a lot of fun as well. When she and Colman Domingo arrived on the Live Stage with Dave Solo, she played some mean air guitar to the music playing over the loudspeaker.

`And now we wait to learn more of the fate of Madison who most recently washed ashore after the dam broke loose. Hopefully, we will not have to wait too long into season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead to also find out the status of Madison’s family and the deal maker himself, Victor Strand.

Finally, thank you, Kim Dickens, for a fun and revealing chat at Walker Stalker Con Atlanta. We hope you will be back and bring even more cast mates along for the ride!
