6) In an interesting glimpse into his philosophy, Negan explains that by killing one person, one might save a hundred more. He is the first hostile thus far in the show to frame his actions in such a way.

7) In a strange parallel, this was the same reasoning Richard used when trying to explain his plan to, essentially, sacrifice Carol to spur Ezekiel into action against The Saviors in Season Seven’s “New Best Friends”.

8) Negan’s rant to his lieutenants about people as a resource is both revealing and confusing. If he believes in this idea so strongly, why, then, did he wipe out all of the men of Oceanside and everyone at the library?

9) During this extended rant, Negan asks Simon if he was “backsliding”. What, exactly, does he mean by that? Is he implying that the aforementioned acts of excessive violence were more Simon’s doing than his?

10) Yago telling Rick that all the shared death between The Saviors and The Kingdom is his doing echoes Negan’s sentiment on the situation during his conversation with Father Gabriel.
