Rosita and Michonne had a fiery scene with the Saviors in The Walking Dead this week. Here’s some background information on this scene that had fans talking.

On the most recent episode of The Walking Dead Michonne and Rosita finally got back in the action after some time spent healing from their wounds. But the scene clearly showed that neither one is back at full fighting capacity.

Michonne and Rosita leave Alexandria because they need to see what’s going on at The Sanctuary for themselves. Along the way they come across a Savior cache space. There are two Saviors, Zia and Leo, who are rigging up a vehicle with huge speakers. They’re planning on taking the vehicle to The Sanctuary and using it to lead the walkers away so that Negan and the others trapped inside can get out.

Michonne faces off with Zia, but it’s clear that she’s not recovered enough to fight yet. Meanwhile Rosita faces off with Leo and uses the RPG launcher she found in the cache to obliterate him in a fireball.

Zia escapes and flees in the speaker vehicle. Neither Rosita or Michonne is well enough to go after her. They watch, defeated, as Zia drives away. But Zia’s vehicle is smashed by a garbage truck driven by Daryl before she gets too far down the road. Daryl and Tara get out and Daryl fires a few rounds at Zia’s body to make sure she’s really dead.

Still Not Off The Injured List

Michonne and Rosita were both pretty badly injured in The Walking Dead season 7 finale and they have been healing at Alexandria while the others have been attacking The Saviors. It’s clear from this scene that neither one is ready to come off the injured list just yet. Michonne was definitely in pain and didn’t have her usual ninja like abilities.

Rosita’s physical condition now is about as poor as her attitude was throughout season 7. Without that RPG she may not have gotten out of that fight. At least it seems like she may finally be willing to work with the others to take down The Saviors instead of being hell bent on her own kamikaze revenge plan.

A Good Save

Even though it seems like no one is really sticking to Rick’s plan because they are all pairing off and going out on their own personal missions in this particular case one of those side missions may have bought Rick and the others some time.

If Rosita and Michonne had stayed in Alexandria the way they were supposed to they wouldn’t have found the cache space and the weapons and other goods it contains that they can take and use against The Saviors.

And if Zia and Leo had been able to get that vehicle back to The Sanctuary it would have meant that Negan was no longer pinned down and would be actively planning to attack Alexandria, The Hilltop and The Kingdom.

Now it looks like Michonne and Rosita, or possibly Daryl and Tara, will need to go rescue Rick from The Scavengers. All Out War continues this Sunday on The Walking Dead.
