Overall impression of TWD 807

As a whole, this was a great setup for the midseason finale. All the cards are in place for the war to be taken to the next level and it is still a mystery since there are a lot of things that didn’t go as planned on both sides of the battles.

More from Undead Walking

There was a lot of character development in this episode. Both Eugene and Dwight have affirmed their allegiances, but there is still a lot conflict in Eugene’s head about what the right thing to do is, what will keep him safe, and what will keep other people safe.

Like some of the other episodes in this season so far, there isn’t a ton of replay value to this episode. Despite some great dialogue and character interactions, this isn’t the kind of installment of the story fans will be itching to watch numerous times.

I enjoyed this episode more than some of the others, but again it wasn’t a great installment of the series. The development of Dwight and Eugene are the shining positives combined with Negan’s interactions, but a real lack of action, strange pacing, and weird dialogue kept it from being great.

EPISODE GRADE: 8.3
