#1. How much ‘Negan’ is Eugene?
At the end of season 7, Eugene announced in front of everyone at the gates of Alexandria that he is Negan. This moment upset a lot of fans who were still holding on to some kind of hope that he still wanted to work with Rick’s side.
Still, even after that, some fans still believed that Eugene had some allegiance left to Rick and his traveling companions. However, what Eugene had said the entire time rang true once again in this episode.
Despite saying that he is Negan and pledging his allegiance to The Saviors, Eugene isn’t looking out for anyone but himself. He’s only doing what he believes he has to do in order to keep himself safe no matter what the cost.
Still, Eugene got really upset when Daryl crashed the truck into The Sanctuary and walkers killed many workers. He took that out on Father Gabriel and the incident further distanced himself from Rick Grimes and Alexandria.
