Lesson #3: Overcome your fear.

There will be a lot to be afraid of in a zombie apocalypse. Frankly, there’s too many things to list here, but suffice to say that zombies won’t be the only thing you need to watch out for.

However, surviving a zombie apocalypse means you can’t really afford to let your life be dictated by fear. Don’t get me wrong, recklessness is stupid, but, you can’t be petrified by fear, either.

If you let fear dominate you, you’ll become useless: Too afraid to fight the horrors and do the things that need to be done in order to ensure your survival. A person ruled by fear is unreliable and untrustworthy. Your group will constantly question whether you’re someone who can be counted on to watch their back against the dead, or back them up against the living

Fear can’t be allowed to rule you, you have to fight it. You have to face those things you fear (Confrontation, death, zombies, etc.) and overcome them. Peoples’ lives, not least of which your own, will depend on your ability to carry on in the face of your fears.

A hero isn’t the person who is unafraid, but who is afraid, yet fights on anyways, in spite of their fears.
