The Walking Dead: Five Lessons To Learn
By Liam O'Leary
Lesson #5: Never stop fighting.
At one point or another in a zombie apocalypse, you’ll find yourself in situations where the odds are against you. When most of the human population is undead and resources for the rest are limited, these things happen.
But, simply because the odds are against you, doesn’t mean you should simply resign yourself to a miserable fate. Whether it’s being outnumbered by hostiles or zombies, held prisoner, etc. you should always be ready and willing to try to fight your way out of it.
So long as you can still move and still have your wits about you, you have a fighting chance. What’s more, if it’s evident the alternative is certain death, you have nothing to lose.
Conversely, the last thing you should do is simply let yourself get killed by hostiles or eaten by zombies. If you have some means of fighting them, you owe it to yourself to do so.
I won’t lie to you and say fighting your way out will be easy, but, who said survival would be? In a zombie apocalypse you have to fight for everything you have, but most especially your life. No matter how bleak the situation may be, you must keep fighting.
In the immortal words of Yogi Berra: “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
