The Walking Dead 808 recap: ‘How It’s Gotta Be’
Favor Granted
Carl makes it off the lookout as the explosions rain down. He throws smoke grenades as he makes his escape. The church explodes in front of him as he limps away.
Gavin says there is one last piece of business. He needs Ezekiel to answer for his crimes and he suggests that the Kingdommers cooperate. He has to be there. Gavin can’t believe that no one is giving him up, and he warns that he doesn’t want to have to kill someone. There are kids there that don’t need to see this stuff. When no one says a word, he gives them five minutes before things go “Negan’s Way” and that’s on them.
Maggie asks Simon how they go out. Simon says they figured it out. He tells her that they are clearing out the Kingdom and Alexandria. Hopefully no one makes it complicated. The Hilltop won’t be bothered because they’re the producers. Simon is still upset at Gregory for making him look bad and he hopes working with Maggie will be better. In the distance he hears music and reveals that Eugene was the one who helped them get out of the mess. Now they’re leading the herd away. Either Maggie agrees, or Jerry dies. There are holes in the coffin so she can breathe, unlike Sasha. Otherwise, all of her people will die. Simon says it’s all a pain, so it would be easier if Maggie agrees to go home and water the sorghum and save everyone from all the trouble. And someone needs to die. Simon shoots the man in the car behind Maggie, and she finally says they can stop. She asks for a favor. She wants the box for the man he killed so he can be buried. Simon grants the favor.
