#3. What will be done with the hostages from The Saviors?

Jesus went against the wishes of Rick and decided to capture a large number of The Saviors at an outpost instead of killing them. He and the group brought them to The Hilltop, where Maggie decided to lock all of them inside a pen with Gregory.

Her idea was that those people could be used as trade bait if they need to work out some kind of deal with Negan and The Saviors during the war. And it turns out that this kind of situation is exactly what happened.

Maggie did lose one of her people, Neil, when he was shot by Simon at the roadblock. But they did work out a deal to where they would continue to grow food for the community and give just about everything to Negan’s group.

That deal didn’t work for Maggie, and she shot the member of The Saviors who held Jesus at gunpoint and placed him inside a casket as a warning to Negan’s group, letting them know she had a large number more.
