The Walking Dead: Khary Payton’s touching fan meeting at Walker Stalker Con
Khary Payton shared a beautiful moment from Walker Stalker Con New Jersey when he met a fan who was particularly touched by King Ezekiel’s “And yet I smile.”
The Walking Dead is known for its loyal fan base and there is nothing better than seeing stories of how the show has had a positive impact or provided inspiration for both the fans and the actors.
During the meet and greet session with Khary Payton, the actor who brings King Ezekiel to life, a woman shared her story with him and told him why Ezekiel’s “And yet I smile” speech inspires her so much.
In his post on Instagram, Payton shared a photo of a woman named Michelle. He wrote:
"“Michelle had 18 rounds of chemo & is now 15 months cancer free. She beamed at me and said ‘& yet I smile, right?! & yet I smile!!!’ #DamnRight”"
Take a look at this adorable picture of Payton and Michelle:
There’s nothing better than seeing how the cast of The Walking Dead has inspired fans. I think that fans’ stories often blow the actors’ minds given some of their stories of overcoming obstacles and hardships. Clearly, Payton is touched by Michelle’s exuberance and it’s fun to see.
What’s even more touching is how many fans shared similar stories in the post’s comments, and Michelle herself gave everyone encouragement on their own cancer battles. “And yet I smile” has taken on a life of its own.
