82. Daryl Meets Dwight, Part 1

After an ambush while leading a herd of Walkers, Daryl is separated from Sasha and Abraham and wrecks his bike. He hides in the woods and tends to his wounds when he comes upon a trio of people who are running away from someone. As it turns out, this is Dwight, Sherry and Tina. They think Daryl is there to take them back to wherever they came from, but eventually they realize that Daryl isn’t one of the people chasing them.

Dwight is focused on escaping. Without realizing it, Daryl starts to learn about the Saviors. Dwight and Sherry escaped from the Saviors and Negan and they know that it’s only a matter of time before they are found. Daryl ends up losing his crossbow to Dwight, who will later on use the same weapon to shoot Denise through the eye.

This is the start of the contentious relationship that carries over to Daryl’s stay at the Sanctuary. Now that Dwight has come over to Rick’s side, Daryl will still have trouble trusting him.
