42. Carol and Maggie Trap the Saviors on the Kill Floor

“The Same Boat” was a brilliant episode all the way through. But when Maggie and Carol tricked The Saviors who arrived as backup and got them to the kill floor in the slaughterhouse, then set it on fire and locked the door that took the episode to another level.

Throughout that episode fans watched Maggie and Carol play a game of wits with The Saviors who had captured them. Carol immediately went into her scared housewife act and it worked on some of The Saviors. And Maggie, who has been through captivity before when she and Glenn were captured by Merle and taken to The Governor, stayed calm and looked for every opportunity to gain an advantage.

The interactions between Carol and Paula were very interesting because the two were so similar. But even though The Saviors can be pretty savage they had no idea who they were up against. Carol will do anything she has to do to protect her loved ones, and she is very protective of Maggie and Baby Rhee. This moment showed that when it comes to staying alive and keeping the ones you love alive it’s frighteningly easy for otherwise good people to do horrific things.
