Fear The Walking Dead revealed the premiere date for the highly anticipated season 4 and it’s sooner than you might think.

According to EW AMC announced on Saturday that Fear The Walking Dead season 4 will premiere on Sunday April 15th. The premiere will air at 10PM EST, which is an hour later than its usual time slot.

The next week, on April 22nd, the show will return to the 9PM EST time slot that it usually occupies and it will remain in that time slot for the rest of the season.

AMC did not say if Fear The Walking Dead will air two new episodes back to back as it did for the season 3 premiere and the season 3 finale.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of the show following an epic season 3.  Season 3 was regarded by both fans and critics as the strongest season yet of Fear TWD. In season fan favorite character Morgan Jones from The Walking Dead will be joining Fear as the new season starts.

New Location, New Characters

Earlier this week character photos and descriptions revealed the new main cast members that will be joining original characters Madison Clark, Alicia Clark, Nick Clark and Victor Strand. The new characters include John, played by Garrett Dillahunt as well Naomi played by Jenna Elfman and Althea played by Maggie Grace. Danay Garcia, who played Nick’s girlfriend Luciana, also is rumored to be returning in season 4.

The show has moved production to Texas, which is where the new story will kick off. In the season 3 finale the dam blew up and the Clarks were scattered. But it looks like they will survive the destruction of the dam and somehow make their way to Texas.

Along the way they will encounter the new characters and Morgan Jones, although they will probably be traveling separately and hoping that they will be reunited at some point like they have done before.

Although it hasn’t been revealed how Morgan will cross over in to the Fear storyline speculation is that after All Out War ends on The Walking Dead Morgan, upset at Rick’s decisions regarding Negan or perhaps searching for the inner peace he lost during the war, will leave Virginia and head to Texas. Along the way he will likely cross paths with the Fear characters and join their world.

Early Premiere

Most people speculated that Fear The Walking Dead wouldn’t return until summertime so the April premiere date comes as a bit of a surprise. But it will be great to see if Fear The Walking Dead can continue the momentum it built during season 3 and come out swinging with a strong season 4. If season 4 is as good as season 3 it’s going to be a very intense season.
