The synthesized version of The Walking Dead theme is totally rad
The Walking Dead main theme is iconic, but when you run it through a 1980s synthesizer you get a whole new experience you never knew you needed.
There’s something about television theme songs that oftentimes transcends the actual show. Many children of the 80s grew up able to sing the theme song to Full House, while Friends introduced us to the Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You” and made it a huge hit. Instrumental theme songs can be just as memorable: Star Trek, M.A.S.H., Sex and the City, Game of Thrones and, of course, The Walking Dead come to mind. But when you run The Walking Dead’s theme song through a 1980s synthesizer you get an entirely new experience.
YouTuber GentleBruce created this remix, and he also has an 80s-style synthesized version of the “Dead by Daylight” theme. In this case, he took Bear McCreary’s version of The Walking Dead theme song and gave it a whole new sound using a synthesizer. “I made an 80s style synthwave remix of the main theme from The Walking Dead TV show. Hope you like it.”
Take a listen for yourself:
GentleBruce extended the theme song’s run time to over three minutes to really give listeners the full experience.

You can definitely hear the McCreary version of the song in the new track, along with some fun additions that give it a whole new vibe. Nerdist expressed hope that GentleBruce does other remixes in the future, perhaps giving The Walking Dead theme a 60s or 70s vibe.
