Andrew Lincoln finally joins the Harry Potter franchise with the announcement that he’s narrating the beloved tome Quidditch Through the Ages, due March 2018.

There was once a time when Andrew Lincoln joked that he and David Morrissey were the only British actors not involved in the Harry Potter franchise. That’s about to change with the announcement that The Walking Dead star will narrate Quidditch Through the Ages for an audiobook due in March 2018.

JK Rowling wrote the complete history of Quidditch, a sport enjoyed by wizards (and muggles) alike, comes to life in her 2001 Quidditch Through the Ages, written under the nom de plume Kennilworthy Whisp. The book became an instant bestseller among Harry Potter fans young and old looking for every morsel of wizarding knowledge available. Fast forward to 2018 and you’ll find Quidditch games taking place on college campuses all over the world.

According to the Telegraph, the audiobook features a segment from a live Quidditch match with commentary from Ginny Potter (voiced by Imogen Church) and Rita Skeeter (Annette Badland).

The audiobook’s editor has high praise for Andrew Lincoln’s work: “His narration brings out both the charming humour in JK Rowling’s writing, and the vibrant characters that have inhabited the world of Quidditch throughout time.”

Getting involved in the Harry Potter franchise was something on Andrew Lincoln’s mind: “Dave Morrissey and I…we used to sort of joke that were were the only actors in British Equity that hadn’t been in the Harry Potter franchise, so maybe I would have been wizarding about Hogwarts or hobbit-ing about Middle Earth.”

Well, it looks like Rick is going to beat the Governor once again, only this time it’s Lincoln beating Morrissey to the Golden Snitch. (It’s a Quidditch thing. Trust me.)

The all-new audiobook version of Quidditch Through the Ages is due on Audible on March 15.
