The Walking Dead: 10 Female Characters That Could Carry A Spinoff
By Sonya Iryna
6. Deanna
A spinoff centered on Deanna would be a fantastic way to go back to the beginning of the apocalypse and show what happened in a major population center when the society started to fall. Deanna’s position as a Congresswoman would have presumably given her some protection when things really started to go bad, even if that was temporary.
And since Alexandria was so isolated and largely untouched by the problems of survival that the other groups faced it would fascinating to see how the people of Alexandria came together and how they created this unique community under Deanna’s guidance.
There are stories to explore from those early days, like how the group dealt with people who didn’t “fit in” and the moral and philosophical ramifications of that as Deanna struggled to put together a new society, not just a community. She and Reg come from a different and more privileged background than most of the other characters so exploring how people like that deal with the outbreak and the fall would add another facet of understanding to the existing information that fans have about The Walking Dead world.
Fans know how Alexandria ended up, but it would really be interesting to see how it started. And Deanna’s character was a strong, smart, and experienced public planner more than capable of being the focus of a spinoff.
