The interesting stuff from TWD 809
Silver-haired Rick reminds me of Hershel. Seeing the older version of Rick with Judith was weird, mostly because of how the big beard and white hair made him look reminiscent of Hershel Greene. It was a nice throwback I wasn’t expecting.
TWD Rewards. The code for 500 points for episode 809 is ‘FINISHTHEFIGHT’. That’s a lot of points considering an autographed poster is only 5,000. Even if you didn’t have an account before, it is definitely worth signing up for now. But please wait until after the site is done crashing.
Did AMC save Judith for this very reason? I’m curious if killing off Carl was always part of the plan since Judith survived the assault on the prison. If not, was it because of the backlash of killing a kid or an insurance policy for the future of the show? I’m not sure and can’t even speculate.
Red Machete continues to impress. Sometimes I struggle with the short segments of a series during an episode, but Red Machete is one that has gotten my attention since the very start. This week’s installment is no different, offering some great scene involving the weapon.
Morgan just went for it! Reaching into someone’s body and tearing out their insides may be a move of desperation, but it also makes for some fantastic television. The gross scene was just what the fight needed to break up the gunfire and staff kills though.
What’s next? Comic readers are left to wonder what will happen next since the entire basis of the next few storylines are based on interactions with him. But hopefully, AMC has a plan to tell similar or better stories for their audience without Carl going forward.
