Norman Reedus, Khary Payton share pictures with Chandler Riggs
Shortly before the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, the cast started sharing photos of their fallen comrade Chandler Riggs.
The season 8 mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead is going to tug at fans’ heartstrings, no question. But Chandler Riggs’ impending departure from the show is drawing some last minute social media posts featuring the actor from his time on the show.
It hard enough for fans to imagine what it’s like losing a character from The Walking Dead, but it’s even harder for cast members who have come to think of each other as one big family. The sentiment is made worse when it’s Chandler Riggs leaving, who started out as a child and has grown before eveyrone’s eyes.
Khary Payton shared a post of King Ezekiel and Carl Grimes from the set. They’re both sporting big smiles as they get ready for another scene. “See you around, kid,” Payton writes.
Norman Reedus also shared a post of Carl Grimes, but this one takes us back to the old days when Carl was a youngster. Even still, he looks tough as he and Daryl Dixon defend themselves.
Chandler Riggs departure from the show has been looming over the TWD Family since the mid-season finale in December, and the moment has finally come when we say goodbye. But as Andrew Lincoln notes in his musical tribute to his television son, it’s not a goodbye it’s a “see you soon” because Lincoln will meet up with Riggs during his trip to Walker Stalker Con in London.
Carl, you will me missed.
