#2. Will Ezekiel actually sacrifice himself?
At the end of the midseason finale, Ezekiel launched a surprise attack on The Saviors at The Kingdom which provided enough of a distraction for the residence of the community to escape out the front gate.
Instead of leaving with the group, the king stayed behind and barricaded the exit to give everyone time to get away. With himself inside with the Gavin and the rest of Negan’s men, things looked very bad for Ezekiel.
Although Gavin had been ordered that the King not be killed and he should be brought to Negan, there is always some grey area that leaves situations up in the air and allows unexpected things to happen.
However, after watching Shiva sacrifice herself and Ezekiel question his worth, it’s not a shocker to see him be willing to put his own life on the line to save the lives of others. That alone shows he has the ability to be the leader he doesn’t believe he can be.
