Rick

Rick drives along after dealing with the situation at the junkyard, He tells Michonne he didn’t want her dead, he just wanted her gone. Michonne says that’s what Carl was talking about, that we have a choice. He pulls over and says he needs a second. He takes Carl’s note and the one to Negan.

The note to Negan and reads it. Rick looks up and sighs. Then he calls Negan.

He tells Negan that Carl is dead and that he wrote letters to everyone. He asked Negan to stop and he asked Rick to stop. He wants peace. Rick says it’s too late for peace. Rick says he’s going to kill him. Negan asks how it happened. He wants to know if it was the grenade. “It wasn’t you,” Rick said. He tells Negan that he got bit trying to help someone. “God damn it,” Negan says. He tells Rick he had plans because Carl is the future. Negan tries to spin it that Rick didn’t leave things alone and Carl died because Rick wasn’t there to stop him from doing something stupid. Negan says he’s the answer. He wants Rick to stand down. He is genuinely upset that Carl is gone. He says Rick failed as a leader and as a father. He wants Rick to give up because he has already lost.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC.
