With all the talk that season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead will feature big twists, the new teaser makes it look like Madison has gone over to the dark side.

With no source material to guide the journey, Fear the Walking Dead can steer its own course, and so far it truly has. From the outbreak’s early days in Los Angeles to a boat in the open ocean to Mexico to a ranch on the US-Mexican border, the show has traversed quite a distance. Several original cast members have died while others have undergone drastic transformations. Could it be that Madison Clark will become the bad guy in the future?

In the Walking Dead universe we’re used to having three distinct groups of characters: The good guys, the bad guys and everyone in between. At this point on both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, the characters have gotten their hands dirty, killing both Walkers and people when the situation calls for it.

Take a look at the latest teaser for Fear the Walking Dead season 4:

Madison looks really dark, doesn’t she? Clearly she has been through a lot since the last time we saw her and she is not the same person we once knew.

What if Madison Clark became the bad guy? It could happen. There’s no reason why it can’t happen, really. We now know that Madison killed someone long before the zombie apocalypse even started and throughout season 3 she had no trouble taking lives, both alive and undead alike – if it suited her needs.

Without Travis, Madison has been untethered with no one, not even her kids, able to rein her in. It makes perfect sense that someone who has been through so much and has lost as much as she has would become the aggressor in the apocalypse, but is that would should happen?

One of the bigger questions in all of this is whether or not fans would want to see the hero become the villain. With so many new characters added to the Fear cast, and the prospect of a time jump, there are enough ingredients to allow for her character to undergo a change.
