Overall Impression from TWD 811

As a whole, this was another good episode of The Walking Dead. An extended run may not have been necessary since there were some plots that could have carried over into the next episode of the show, but it was still quite strong.

More from Undead Walking

There was plenty to love about this episode. Seeing more from Gabriel and Dwight was great since these are two characters who we haven’t gotten many stories lately, so seeing their stories develop in this episode was good. Plus, Maggie finally coming around to treating the prisoners like people is a huge step.

As far as weak moments, there weren’t many. Sure, some fans won’t like the lack of Rick and Michonne, but the overlapping stories on the episode weren’t confusing like some of the previous installments, especially when the outposts were under attack.

One of the most interesting moments came when Daryl, a character who is often all over the place, got himself back into line and focused when looking at Judith. It’s moments like these that help establish characters, and Daryl needs as much of that as possible to become interesting once again.

This episode was a good one. Sure, it isn’t likely to be anyone’s favorites, but it was entertaining and did a great job of setting the stage for a big clash between The Saviors and the survivors at The Hilltop. This episode gets a score of 8.2 out of 10!
