Even Chandler Riggs is poking fun at his character’s death on The Walking Dead, but he assures fans that he’s actually doing well since leaving the show.

Chandler Riggs can’t believe that after all these years, Carl died after tripping on a tree root. You can’t blame him, because Carl Grimes essentially grew up in the apocalypse and has fought far more daunting enemies than the mighty tree root. He created a meme during his time at Walker Stalker London that sums up how he feels about Carl’s death and he also talks about his future now that he is no longer on the show.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, Chandler Riggs isn’t pulling punches about his character’s untimely departure from the show. You can’t blame him for throwing shade at Carl’s death. It doesn’t make sense in any conventional sense given that his character is supposed to be going strong in the future. But don’t worry about Riggs’ future. He has already filmed two movies (Inherit the Viper and Only), released new music and is actively taking on new projects that wouldn’t have been possible before:

It’s great to see that Chandler Riggs has a solid sense of humor about Carl, and in a way his jabs at Carl’s death help fans cope with his loss. And the reality is that he’s not really gone, not too far, anyway, as fans can still see him at Walker Stalker Cons and in his other projects.
