The world of The Walking Dead is a dark place, but thankfully Robot Chicken created a DVD packed with fun bonuses for their special ‘Look Who’s Walking’!

We were thankful to receive an advance copy of The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special titled Look Who’s Walking and got a sneak peek at all the extras and bonus features that will come with the DVD and Blu-ray when it is released on March 27, 2018.

Of course, the main course of the DVD is the special itself, which aired on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The special itself featured numerous cast members from the popular AMC zombie survival drama series lending their voices to their characters in the special.

While we have already done a review of the special itself, Robot Chicken did a great job of having fun with the universe The Walking Dead has created and made the 22-minute focus of the disc itself well worth owning, especially to hear Michael Rooker and Jeffrey Dean Morgan show off their vocal talents.

But the real reason to get a look at the DVD is to peek at the special features and bonus materials fans get when buying the physical copy of the special. Considering the special itself is only 22 minutes long, there are a significant amount of extras packed in the DVD.

First, there are two commentary tracks. Neither one pays very close attention to the episode while it is airing in the background, but you do get to listen to stories from Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple, and Josh McDermitt as well as quite a bit about what went into creating the segments of the episode. There is even a little Easter Egg in the audio commentary with McDermitt that could be fun for fans to find.

One of the most fun bonuses was watching the crew from Robot Chicken ‘Behind the Screams’ being interviewed about the process of creating the show while they had a walker in full makeup sneak up on them to give a scare.

‘Sketches to Die For’ was interesting because the Robot Chicken crew along with Robert Kirkman and Scott M. Gimple shed some light on what their favorite part of the special was, some video of Steven Yeun voice acting, as well as some of the detail that went into creating the museum used during the main plot.

However, the best part comes in the ‘Cut Sketches’. While the sketches that didn’t quite make the cut aren’t all polished and many are just the storyboard versions with voiceovers, you get the sense of just how many great ideas Robot Chicken came up with for the special, and get a chuckle at some that should have made the cut, especially Michonne Double Dutch and That’s Entertainment.
