Who died in The Walking Dead episode 813: Do Not Send Us Astray?
By Sonya Iryna
Not everyone made it out of the battle for The Hilltop alive on The Walking Dead. Here’s the casualty list for season 8 episode 13 ‘Do Not Send Us Astray’.
All Out War is winding down on The Walking Dead but that means the intensity and the death count are ramping up. In episode 813 ‘Do Not Send Us Astray’ The Saviors assaulted The Hilltop which led to some heavy casualties on both sides.
The Saviors went to The Hilltop with the intention of not killing The Hilltop residents but wounding them with their weapons, which were tainted with walker guts and blood. Negan wanted them to wound The Hilltop residents and leave them to turn to send a message to Maggie and the others.
But Simon, being Simon, took things into his own hands. While The Saviors did an awful lot of wounding with the infected weapons they also killed a number of the residents at The Hilltop directly. They also took some heavy casualties of their own. Neither side won a clear victory in this battle considering that both sides ended up with losses. But The Saviors ultimately did run away after The Hilltop launched a heavy assault from the safety of the plantation house.
Tara was shot in the back with an arrow by Dwight, to prevent Simon from shooting her. She was shot in the arm and so far isn’t showing any signs of the fever. So it’s possible that Dwight didn’t taint his arrows. Rick has a cut that also doesn’t seem to have been from a tainted weapon because so far he has no symptoms of the fever. But there were still losses for the alliance.
Tobin
Poor Tobin finally got some closure from Carol, who told him that she was just pretending when she tried to be in a relationship with him. Tobin seemed to have some hope that things could still work between him and Carol. But that wasn’t to be. Tobin was stabbed by a Savior early on in the battle. His stab wound wasn’t fatal. But he was stabbed with a tainted blade and he died from the fever and turned quickly.
After he turned he took out several of the patients in the hospital trailer. And he killed The Kingdom doctor, Doctor Dana. So now there’s just one doctor for all three communities, Siddiq. Add “doctor” to the list of dangerous occupations on The Walking Dead right along with “moral compass”.

The Hilltop Residents
The Hilltop residents and The Kingdom and Alexandria residents who were taking shelter there fought hard to defend The Hilltop. Their coordinated attacks ultimately sent The Saviors running, but many of them were wounded by The Saviors. Those who were injured with the tainted weapons developed fevers quickly. They were resting inside the plantation house and many of them died and turned. The rest of those were eaten by those who turned. Rick and the others managed to kill the ones who turned but it upped the death toll for The Hilltop considerably.
The Saviors
The Saviors were not unscathed. The Hilltop was ready for the attack and their coordinated attacks managed to kill many of The Saviors foot soldiers who were leading the way. Simon and Dwight escaped, but Simon will still have to face Negan’s wrath for killing The Scavengers.
