4. Tara

In “Do Not Send Us Astray”, Tara was among a handful of people wounded by presumably tainted weapons during the latest Saviors’ assault. After Tobin succumbs to his injuries and reanimated, a feeding frenzy ensued and we all had good reason to worry about Tara. But, we also have good reason to think she’ll be just fine. Dwight’s carefully placed shot preempted Simon’s actions and likely saved her life.

It’s highly doubtful that Dwight used an infected arrow, but Tara and the others don’t know this. If Tara truly believes that she is destined to die like the others injured in the attack, she may choose to take an extreme measure to improve her group’s chances of survival. That could involve putting herself in harm’s way to save others, or a renewed campaign against Dwight. On the other hand, she may actually believe that Dwight injured her as a way to save her from greater harm. If this is the case, she has a long road ahead convincing others that Dwight should still be trusted. Daryl, for one, is having none of it and may take Dwight out himself the next time he sees him.

If it turns out that Tara is indeed doomed to die, it will seal Dwight’s fate and negate anything he has done to help the group. If it turns out that she’s going to be fine though, she will fight to ensure people know that he is still on their side.
