Madison Clark

Madison Clark is the lead protagonist on Fear The Walking Dead. She is an extremely strong and capable survivor that has been prepared for the apocalypse world by a tumultuous life. She loves her children Nick and Alicia and will do anything to protect them. But she can also be extremely cold and callous at times. She and Victor Strand have a strong friendship and the two have a great bond.

Before the outbreak Madison was a high school guidance counselor. She was engaged to Travis Manawa, who was the English teacher at the school where she worked. She and Travis struggled to blend their families and had a chaotic life as they dealt with resentment from Travis’ son Chris and other family problems. Madison’s son Nick is an addict, which put additional stress on her relationship with Travis and her relationship with her daughter Alicia.

Throughout the seasons it’s been revealed that Madison gets her steely strength from previous traumatic experiences. Her first husband died in a car accident that later was revealed to be a suicide. When she was a child Madison saw her father abuse her mother repeatedly. She eventually shot and killed him in defense of her mother.

Those experiences have made Madison a pragmatic and ruthless survivor. She is loyal to her children and Strand and will do whatever it takes to protect them. She has no problems manipulating others or using any advantage she can get to keep her family save. She will kill without a second thought although she prefers not to. Her pragmatism can make her seem uncaring but she is fiercely devoted to her family and to surviving at any cost.
