Aaron is hoping to convince the members of Oceanside to join the fight against the Saviors, but do the women in Oceanside have any reason to join?

The women of Oceanside have already lost their men and boys to the Saviors, and then Rick came along and took their guns. So what reason do they have to join the fight? Aaron thinks he can convince them to help in this week’s all-new episode of The Walking Dead.

Oceanside has been a well-kept secret until Tara came along and took the secret back to Alexandria. Her people needed weapons and Oceanside had lots of them, so Rick hoped to gain their support in the fight against Negan. The women of Oceanside didn’t feel that they had any horses in the race so they declined, and Rick took the weapons anyway. Now, after Enid accidentally killed their leader Natania, Aaron is holding onto hope that he can convince the women to join them. Despite their marred history together, there’s strength in numbers and together they might be able to reach a common goal.

It’s easy to understand the hesitation on Oceanside’s part, but the reality for them is that their time is limited. They’ve been lucky not to be discovered. Another group will find them eventually, and it would be better if they had allies. After seeing Simon slaughter the Scavengers, it’s very likely that he was the one who killed their men, so leaving him in any kind of position of power is  a very bad idea.

Unfortunately, Aaron doesn’t know what has been happening back home, so he can’t name drop Simon and use that as leverage. However, he seems to have a plan and hopefully he’s successful in making some new friends.

Oceanside would do well to make some friends, even if their new “friends” were the ones who took their weapons. In this world numbers make a difference, and having friends is more valuable than making new enemies.
