The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead crossover: Other characters could also crossover
By Sonya Iryna
Morgan’s crossover to Fear The Walking Dead from The Walking Dead opens the door for other characters to cross in the future.
The big Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead crossover is finally here. Morgan Jones will leave The Walking Dead after the big season 8 finale that will close the All Out War story arc. What does that mean for the other characters on The Walking Dead? Could more characters crossover in the future?
Back when Fear The Walking Dead first started the executives were adamant that the two shows would always remain separate and that there would be no crossovers. Since Fear The Walking Dead was set back in 2010 at the start of the outbreak and The Walking Dead was much further on in the timeline of The Walking Dead universe it didn’t seem likely that there would ever be an overlap between the two shows.
But with a confirmed time jump occurring in Fear The Walking Dead season 4 that brings Fear up to the same place on the timeline that The Walking Dead there’s a possibility for more characters to move between the two worlds.
The idea is an intriguing one. If characters can seamlessly move from one show to another that means that beloved characters don’t necessarily have to be killed off when their story arcs are finished on The Walking Dead. They can transition to new arcs in the Fear world.

What Characters Could Crossover?
In recent comments Scott Gimple said that in many ways the end of All Out War is the end of the first eight seasons of The Walking Dead and that the story will change as it moves forward. That means that many of the beloved characters that have been on Rick’s journey with him could move on to Fear The Walking Dead instead of being killed off on The Walking Dead.
Morgan was the obvious choice to be the first crossover because he has a habit of going off on his own when he goes to Crazytown and needs to get his mind back in working order. But what would it look like if other characters crossed over?
Norman Reedus has said in interviews before that he would love to see Daryl ride off into the sunset when his part of The Walking Dead’s narrative is over. Preferably with a dog. So it would make perfect sense for Daryl (and his dog) to head off on their own and find their way to the Fear world down in Texas. An exit like that would also calm the fury of fangirls all over the world who will riot if Daryl is ever killed off.
Carol
As a fierce and unapologetic Caryl shipper I would love to see Daryl and Carol leave The Walking Dead together and end up reuniting with Morgan in Fear The Walking Dead. But even if she leaves alone it’s conceivable that Carol could make the crossover jump too. She, like Morgan, has gone off on her own before. When Rick kicked her out of the prison in season 4 she was fine on her own. So fine that when she had her crisis of self after “The Same Boat” she left the others behind and ended up at the Kingdom. Carol would be a great choice for a crossover character.
