The Walking Dead season 8 finale predictions
By Sonya Iryna
Who will make it out of The Walking Dead season 8 finale alive? Who will win All Out War? Here are a few predictions.
The Walking Dead is finally wrapping up All Out War. It’s been the longest continuous arc so far and the one with the biggest losses. But there are sure to be more losses as Rick’s alliance forces face off with Negan and The Saviors one last time. And this battle will change everything.
Carl’s dying wish was for Rick and Negan to make peace. But neither one seems particularly open to that possibility. Both are bent on totally destroying the other and Carl’s attempt to broker peace on his deathbed isn’t on either leader’s mind. But I predict it will be.
I think that Negan and Rick will finally face off one on one after the battle. Rick’s already proven that he’s a terrible shot when it comes to shooting Negan because he’s had plenty of chances to take Negan out with a bullet and he missed every time. So I think it will come down to a hand to hand fight for these two.
It will be an intense fight, but ultimately Rick will have the upper hand and he will have to decide to kill Negan or let him live as a prisoner. I predict he will think of Carl’s letter before he kills Negan and he will have him put in that cell in the basement of his house in Alexandria, which is still standing. The episode is titled ‘Wrath’, and the season 8 premiere was titled ‘Mercy’ so I think in the end Rick’s mercy will prevail over his wrath for Carl’s sake.

The Saviors
If Negan is taken prisoner or killed it’s likely that The Saviors that aren’t dead will be given a choice to join the alliance or die. Assuming that Dwight survives the battle Rick may put him in charge of The Sanctuary. There are a lot of workers still at The Sanctuary and Rick and Maggie will have to put someone they trust in charge there. If Dwight doesn’t survive or doesn’t want the job I think Aaron will be put in charge of The Sanctuary. But I have a feeling that most of The Saviors won’t survive the battle.
Jadis
Jadis is kind of a wildcard. Rick was pretty cold to her and left her on her own to deal with the herd of walkers that were her people before Simon slaughtered them. I don’t think she’s going to feel very much like joining Rick’s alliance. I can’t see her living at The Kingdom or The Hilltop either. If she survives she may join The Sanctuary or she may decide to go off on her own. I don’t think it will happen but it would be exciting if losing all her people made her turn into Alpha. Imagine Rick and Negan facing off with her again when she leads a herd of Whisperers against them in retaliation for her murdered people…that would be amazing.
Who Is Likely To Die?
There are definitely going to be some deaths in this final battle. I think they’re going to use this to clean house and wrap up the storylines of some characters who have been just kind of hanging out for the last couple seasons without much development.
I think that Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Jesus and Maggie are safe. Morgan is crossing over to Fear The Walking Dead. But I think some of the others are going to be casualties of war. Father Gabriel has made a complete arc and I think he will die in the finale. He’s gone from coward, to faith warrior, and back to coward. He’s done. Possibly Father Gabriel’s sabotage of the bullets will work and they will backfire and kill a bunch of Saviors. That would be a nice bit of redemption for him at the end.
I would love for Eugene to die for his treachery, but I think he will survive. He keeps skating through from season to season. I don’t understand it. Hopefully he will serve some greater purpose later on.
I want to Tara to survive. She’s been given hardly any development since her supply run with Heath when she found Oceanside. I could see them killing her off, but I’m hoping she makes it through.
Rosita will probably survive. Her arc isn’t done yet. I think she’s fairly safe. Enid and Aaron are also probably safe.
I really want Dwight to survive and to go on to lead The Saviors. I’m pulling for him. Dwight is a great character and I’d like to see him try to rebuild some kind of life after all he’s been through. Maybe Sherry would come back if Negan was gone and she and Dwight can try to move forward. But, since Dwight is Daryl-lite in some ways he might be killed.

Gregory
If Gregory doesn’t die in The Walking Dead season 8 finale I’m going to throw things at the TV. I am baffled that he has survived this long. Gregory can’t be trusted and he can’t contribute anything to The Hilltop. He needs to go.
