There were many great moments during the season 8 finale of The Walking Dead, but only one individual deserves to be the MVP of episode 816 titled ‘Wrath’.

All-Out War came to an end during the season 8 finale of The Walking Dead, with The Saviors on the losing end thanks to some unexpected help from several sources Rick and the gang likely weren’t expecting.

  • Although Eugene didn’t have a huge role during the season 8 finale, it’s what he did leading up to the big clash between The Saviors and the survivors and how he responded to it all that gives him the honor again.

Left in charge of creating ammunition for Negan’s army, Eugene knowingly manufactured bullets that would backfire, hurting many of the people from The Sanctuary and giving a chance for the survivors to attack the opposition and win the war.

Last week, he tried telling Rosita and Daryl that he was doing what he was doing to help them but got totally shut out and told he would be locked in a room and only used when they needed him for his intelligence. Heck, they even attempted to blow him up at the gates of Alexandria.

Despite all that, Eugene still took the opportunity given to him to go again Negan and turn the entire tide of the war, impressing everyone and taking a cue from Father Gabriel to give Rick’s group the decisive advantage.

Sure, he still got punched in the face by Rosita, but it shows that Eugene isn’t really Negan, just someone who is learning to make friends and is willing to take calculated risks.
