All Out War is over and things took a surprising turn in the final battle. Here are some of the best fan reactions to The Walking Dead season 8 finale.

All Out War finally came to an end last night on The Walking Dead season 8 finale ‘Wrath’. Although fans who were expecting a big dramatic final battle didn’t quite get what they expected. There were a lot of surprises though. Eugene showed up in a big way for Team Family. And when Rick and Negan finally faced off one on one things took a dramatic turn.

The episode had been hyped as a battle-heavy episode which isn’t exactly what fans got but the episode showcased the best of what Team Family is about and really underscored the character and commitment to family, love, and loyalty that makes fans love the show. Some fans loved it, others didn’t love it so much.

Scott Gimple promised that The Walking Dead season 8 finale would wrap up the first 8 seasons of the show and close out what is supposed to be the first era of the show. The era of fighting individually for survival is over. Now the fight becomes a fight to rebuild a society where survivors can find security, peace, and some kind of life. The episode was Scott Gimple’s last as showrunner of The Walking Dead. Angela Kang will take over showrunning duties in season 9 and fans are excited to see what she will bring to the story and how she will handle the development of the story from this point.
