The interesting stuff

  1. A little Merle Haggard. It’s okay if you didn’t recognize the song used during the opening sequence. However, you may want to pull up your devices and grab a copy of “Mama Tried”. It really is a great old school country song and set the tone well for the new Texas setting.
  2. (Nearly) All kids love pizza. Odds are that if you ask a kid what their favorite food is, they’re going to say pizza. Sure, sauce, cheese, crust, and toppings are a winning combination…but it’s astounding how many kids would say it’s their favorite food!
  3. New credits and logo. The show may have a new feel with familiar faces, but AMC is going the extra mile to give the show a new personality and look as well. The new intro and music set it apart from the previous seasons of the show, making it interesting and fresh.
  4. Talking about Robert Johnson.Cross Road Blues” and selling his soul to the devil for musical talents…these things and amazing blues music are what made Johnson one of the most interesting musicians who ever lived. Plus, it’s great to see younger people like Charlie talking about such legendary music.
  5. “I got you some new records on the bus.” This isn’t the first time records have been used as some sort of incentive or currency. The new group on The Walking Dead traded for records while giving up information. Is there a connection between these groups? Probably not. But it’s a fun coincidence.
  6. TWD Rewards. As you guys know by now, I love the rewards program offered for fans. This week, 300 points could be yours for entering the code…that never aired during the broadcast on my cable television! Not cool, AMC. I want my points!
