Review of Fear The Walking Dead episode 402: Another Day in the Diamond
By Adam Carlson
Overall impression
It was great to see more from the characters fans have grown to know over the previous three seasons of Fear The Walking Dead and finally getting some interaction between them and the new characters is exactly what needed to happen.

Taking two episodes to fill in the backstories on both groups wasn’t only efficient, but it was necessary. It left enough out of the plot to have questions as to what happened in some instances while filling in blanks to tell the rest.
Still, there is a lot we need to know about the survivors we know that was not filled in by this episode. Hopefully, next week’s episode will feature some dialogue between the new and old characters to not only bridge the gap but fill us in as well.
Naomi seems like a welcomed addition to the group and should be valued based on her skills before society crumbled, but we also aren’t sure where she is since she wasn’t included in the group at the truck at the end and we didn’t learn the fate of the baseball field.
I still continue to enjoy everything Fear The Walking Dead has to offer. The blending of old and new is great, but the spirit of the show itself hasn’t changed despite the time jump to accommodate the storytelling. Still, it’s disappointing to have missed out on more of the early stages of the apocalypse, but it’s hard to complain when the show continues to put out solid episodes and seasons.
EPISODE GRADE: 8.4/10
