The Fear The Walking Dead season 4 premiere picked up big gains in extended views setting a strong pace for views this season.

The Fear The Walking Dead season 4 premiere ratings rose even higher after 3 days of extended viewing. The season 4 premiere was part of the Survival Sunday event where many fans watched in theatres but even without those views being counted the premiere had strong live views of over 4 million. That puts season 4 well ahead of the season 3 premiere.

But in Live+3 extended views Fear The Walking Dead picked up another 1.5 million views to bring the total views so far to 5.69 million. That’s a big increase for the show. The season 3 premiere topped out at just over 3 million views.

When the show premiered in 2015 it had over 10 million live views for the first episode. The views dropped steadily over time as the show struggled to find a cohesive narrative. But in season 3 it seemed like the show had finally come together and now in season 4 Fear looks like it’s going to have the best season so far.

Another Day In The Diamond’ Ratings Still Strong

The second episode of Fear The Walking Dead season 4, ‘Another Day In The Diamond’ gave fans more details about what happened after the events of the season 3 finale and how the Clarks, Strand, and Luciana ended up in Texas. It also introduced some new villains for season 4, The Vultures.

The second episode of season 4 faced some stiff competition from HBO’s hit Westworld which ran the premiere episode of season 2 directly against Fear The Walking Dead. But Fear came out on top in the live views. With just over 3 million live views Fear beat Westworld by about a million views.

In season 3 Fear The Walking Dead averaged about 2 million views per episode on a consistent basis. If Fear can keep up this pace the ratings for season 4 should blow the ratings for season 3 out of the water and prove that Fear has finally become the hit it always had the potential to be.
