Lauren Cohan to appear on both The Walking Dead, Whiskey Cavalier
The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan’s new show Whiskey Cavalier gets picked up by ABC, so she’ll be pulling double duty filming two shows.
Lauren Cohan got some good news on a day where many television shows were either picked up or cancelled by major networks. Cohan’s new pilot Whiskey Cavalier got the green light from ABC and will debut in the fall. But don’t worry–Cohan isn’t leaving The Walking Dead. Instead, she’ll be filming both shows opposite each other, which means a double dose of Lauren Cohan!
Whiskey Cavalier is the story of a FBI agent played by Scott Foley who works with Lauren Cohan’s CIA operative. The drama-comedy follows this group of spies as they work on cases and deal with whatever issues come up at work. We know Cohan can play tough characters, so seeing her in a comedic role would be fun.

The Walking Dead world was shaken upon learning that AMC and Lauren Cohan were locked in a salary battle. Her fellow castmates came to her defense, telling AMC that Cohan deserved more money. (Cohan has been on the show since season 2, making her the longest remaining cast member after Andrew Lincoln, Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus) The season 8 finale came and went before Cohan finally got the deal she was after, signing on for season 9 of The Walking Dead.
According to Deadline, Cohan will appear in six episodes of The Walking Dead 9A, and she will film Whiskey Cavalier during The Walking Dead’s summer hiatus. (If the pilot hadn’t been picked up then AMC would have negotiated a new contract for a full season)
Filming multiple projects isn’t new for members of The Walking Dead. Norman Reedus films Ride with Norman Reedus during the mid-season hiatus, while Danai Gurira filmed both Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War during the break. Ross Marquand also appeared in Infinity War, and it’s possible (read: very likely) that we’ll see both of them in a Marvel movie soon.
Next: A time jump could really benefit The Walking Dead
Now that we know Cohan will be back for season 9, we can celebrate having her in two shows in the fall. The Walking Dead season 9 returns in the fall, and Whiskey Cavalier will air at some point during ABC’s fall premiere week.
