Fear The Walking Dead 405: Did anyone die in Laura?

Fear The Walking spared fans from any more major character deaths in Laura but still broke our hearts.
Fear The Walking Dead didn’t kill of any major characters in the latest episode of season 4 ‘Laura’ but it still was a heartbreaking episode. The episode gave us John Dorie’s backstory and showed how John and Naomi met and what their relationship was before she left him and went out on her own.
It also revealed a lot about both characters, particularly John. Even though no one died in this episode the lingering shadow of death hung over the entire episode because Alicia revealed in last week’s episode ‘Buried’ that Naomi was dead. The idea that John and Naomi won’t get to be reunited and will never have the chance to develop their relationship is heartbreaking.
But is Naomi really dead? Alicia said that Naomi didn’t make it out of the diamond. That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s dead though. She and Madison could have made it out together and they could be out on the run searching for the others. Unless one of the original group actually saw her die she may not be dead.

That could of course just be wishful thinking. But rarely do the characters in Fear The Walking Dead make comments that don’t have meaning. So the phrasing of Alicia’s statement could still indicate that Naomi is still alive. I want to believe that Naomi is still alive and that it’s still possible for her and John to be reunited.
What Happened At The Diamond?
It’s clear that everything so far this season on Fear The Walking Dead is leading up to whatever went bad at the diamond. And with just three episodes left until the midseason break the answers that fans want will be coming soon. Most likely whatever happened at the diamond will be revealed in the midseason finale and probably fans will be left with some kind of cliffhanger about whether Naomi and Madison are still alive.
Madison’s fate is just as confusing as Naomi’s right now. If Madison were alive she would fight tooth and nail to get back to her family. But she’s not with them. So either she’s dead, or she got separated from them in the melee at the diamond and they presume she’s dead.
But it could be very possible that Madison and Naomi managed to escape together. Or that The Vultures are holding them as prisoners. There are a lot of interesting possibilities that fans could see playing out in the last three episodes before the midseason break.
