Review of Fear the Walking Dead episode 405: Laura
By Adam Carlson
Overall impression of FearTWD 405
As a whole, this was a very good episode of Fear The Walking Dead. The entire time, I expected to have some major revelation about John to change the way I looked at him. Instead, there was nothing but confirmation that he is a genuinely good guy.
Meanwhile, there wasn’t much learned about Naomi either. Her need to continue moving like she’s searching for something continues despite meeting so many survivors willing to help her on her journey.
Honestly, this episode didn’t do much to move the story forward in any real way but still was entertaining from start to finish because John and Naomi shared a great chemistry during their scenes together.
This whole episode revolved around the relationship between these two characters and set the stage for what will hopefully be a grand reunion. However, the idea that she is dead in the current timeline puts a real damper on those plans.
It is hard to believe that Naomi is dead considering the show is spending so much time developing this relationship. Fans have to be cheering for this couple to get back together but seeing John get crushed if he discovers her grave or body would be heartbreaking and make for interesting television as well.
This was an enthralling episode that felt a bit out of place during the season, but still was an amazing part of what is a great season. EPISODE GRADE: 9.3/10!
